Newporter Resort
Newport Beach, California
Project Size: 414-room Hotel
The Newporter was built as a series of distinct projects in Newport Beach,
California in the 1960's on 25.7 acres. The goal of this project was to
create elements, including a 104-room addition, to unify the hotel in
a more cohesive design. All public spaces, restaurants, meeting rooms
and outdoor areas were remodeled and upgraded to create a distinctive
presence for this unique Southern California resort hotel. An L-shaped
building was chosen for the views generated for the rooms and for the
space that it created between itself and the existing hotel massing.
