Milken Foundation Headquarters
Santa Monica, California
Project Size: 95,000 sf, office
Milken Foundation Headquarters is a limestone, six-story
structure that anchors the "banking crossroads" of Santa Monica.
It is the first building in the city to be entirely clad in quarried stone.
The building has four distinct facades that relate to different city contexts
and provide a maximum of views. Pot shelf balconies line the second floor,
and all floors have terraces from which to enjoy the pleasant ocean breezes.
With subterranean parking, a lush urban courtyard has been provided along
the western edge of the site as a contemplative space next to the busy
Third Street Promenade.
