Beach Inn Hermosa Beach, California Project Size: 96 units Construction Cost: $9,000,000 The Hermosa Beach Inn is a three-story neighborhood hotel that is designed to fit into the urban context of the community of Hermosa Beach. A bridge at the third floor joins two buildings. The architectural vocabulary is strongly reminiscent of the Southern California Craftsman era. Shingles and wood detailing dominate the surfaces, rendering the project in a very warm, textured vernacular. The building is animated by a series of copper canopies and wood trellis structures that carry color and vegetation up to the roof. |
